The promotional poster for the new release carries the tagline “今年の月は大きいですね” (“kotoshi no tsuki wa ookii desu ne”), which translates to “This year’s moon is big, isn’t it?” The “moon” is represented by the round golden pineapples, larger than ever this season, with two slices featured in each burger. According to Burger King, each pineapple slice measures approximately 13 centimeters (5 inches) in diameter, providing a generous amount of fruity refreshment to two distinct burger options.
The Pine Tsukimi Burger, which debuted last tsukimi season to great acclaim, returns this year with an upgraded version. This time, the combination of a single beef patty, four slices of smoky bacon, and two slices of sweetly tart pineapple has “evolved,” with the pineapple delivering even more sweetness to balance the robust flavors of the other ingredients. The Pine Tsukimi Burger is available in a large size for 990 yen (US$6.86) and a small size for 540 yen.
Spice Up Tsukimi Season with Burger King's Chipotle Pine Tsukimi Burger and Pineapple Pie
For those who crave a bit of spice, the Chipotle Pine Tsukimi Burger offers a compelling alternative. Chipotle sauce is a rarity in Japan, so fans will be delighted to find it in this particular burger, which features a flame-grilled beef patty, two slices of sweet golden pineapple, four pieces of smoky bacon, fresh lettuce, creamy mayonnaise, and a specially crafted spicy chipotle sauce that perfectly complements the pineapple. The Chipotle Pine Tsukimi Burger is available in large and small sizes at the same price points as the regular Pine Tsukimi Burger.
To complete the meal, Burger King also offers a Pineapple Pie for 240 yen. This dessert pairs a pulpy, sweet-and-sour diced pineapple filling with a crispy pie crust for a delicious flavor experience.
