Don't go on vacation in Sims 2, you may get stuck on loading screen
Going on vacation in The Sims 2 Legacy Collection can be dangerous. If you got stuck on an endless loading screen, here you can find a workaround and a possible way of getting your family back.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a proper release of the new game from The Sims series. As the last entry in this beloved life simulators, The Sims 4, debuted more than a decade ago, Electronic Arts decided to… re-release The Sims and The Sims 2. This, of course, is not a bad thing, by any means, as the game preservation is an important matter, yet we would expect such endeavour to be done properly. What we’ve received are titles that not only don’t change much but also have many technical difficulties. One of the more annoying problems happens in The Sims 2 and leaves players stuck on a loading screen when sending sims on vacation. If you’d like to finally get back from your holidays, here you will learn a possible workaround (pun intended).
The Sims 2 vacation loading screen loop workaround
The Sims series is known for their many expansion packs that add new items to decorate your house, but also fresh mechanics. With Bon Voyage DLC for The Sims 2 (which is of course included in Legacy Collection), a lot of fans send their characters on eternal vacation. What may be a dream come true for many is a nightmare for others, because the game gets often stuck in an infinite loading screen loop.
So far, there is no real fix for this problem, but EA ensures that they are working on numerous challenges the production struggles with. However, one of the players has found a way to get your family back. To do so:
- Navigate to the vacation neighborhood menu by clicking on the appropriate option in the top part of the screen.
- Go to the location where the family has been sent.
- Use a button to delete it.
- Next, access the family in their regular home lot.
This should put them back in their house. This does not fix the bug from occurring again, though. Yet in order to prevent it from happening, another fan has proposed an interesting workaround. This involves using cheat codes to gain money and purchasing vacation homes in each of the worlds, as the glitch appears to be present only when you save on a community lot.
Hopefully, now you will be able to save your family from the terrible fate of endless vacations and even prevent this from taking place in the future. Good luck!
