Where Cards Fall is an original logical game created by two independent developers, The Game Band and Snowman. The game features simple, cartoonish visuals that work really well with the polished animations and catchy, atmospheric soundtrack. Combined with the subject chosen by the developers, all of that creates an intriguing game. Where Cards Fall focuses on the process of growing up and on the effects of one's youth on the adult life.

Nindie Spotlight: 8.5 / 10 by Justin Nation
Considering the abundance of puzzle games on the casual-friendly Switch, including many from the mobile/tablet space it’s getting tougher to find something that feels new and unique...
Video Chums: 7.5 / 10 by A.J. Maciejewski
Where Cards Fall is a worthwhile puzzle game that genre enthusiasts should definitely add to their gaming library. With clever mechanics, a lovely and slightly abstract setting, and well-done learning curve; it's quite a swell experience.
COGconnected: 67 / 100 by Jaz Sagoo
Where Cards Fall is a lovely puzzler that fails to capitalize on its innovative premise. While The Game Band nails the design, the gameplay experience is hindered by fiddly controls that mar the experience. Puzzles are enjoyable offering a suitable level of challenge but fail to deliver any truly memorable moments. Although the developer’s desire to tell a sympathetic narrative is clear, its delivery lacks the nuances required to engage the audience. Even though there’s an ace somewhere in the hole, several issues leave the game in the lurch.
Where Cards Fall Description
Where Cards Fall for iOS and PC is an unusual logical game created by two developers, The Game Band (a new American studio) and Snowman (creators of DISTANT and Alto’s Adventure).
Mechanics
It is rather hard to describe the game in a few words. Where Cards Fall is a kind of an experiment through which the developers want to show how the process of growing up and the memories from our youth influence our adult life. In practice it comes down to solving puzzles. However, we won’t be pulling levers or assembling blocks. Instead, we will be building houses of cards and, by doing so, shape the surrounding world. Card structures not only ease the movement of our character, but also push the plot forward.
Technical Aspects
Where Cards Fall for iOS and PC is one of those games where visuals doesn’t seem to be that inviting, but they are deliberately used by the developers to somehow toy with the player’s emotions. Simple, cartoon-style visuals work really well with the polished animations and the atmospheric music, creating an interesting and unique game.
